Welcome to Botswana Pension Society
The Botswana Pensions Society is a non-profit making organization registered in 1994 with an objective to promote retirement planning to members of retirement funds and by extension to the general public.
It is managed by a Management Committee comprising of technically skilled representatives of Industry stakeholders engaged in the management of retirement funds.

Retirement Plans
Retirement funding in Botswana is a relatively new concept in the formal sector, although, as stated in the history of pensions section, it has always been there in an informal way, e.g. by investing in children and cattle.

The Society acts as a lobby group in respect of any legislative or other matter which affects the retirement industry;

Many people are dependent on their company retirement fund for their future financial well-being. For most people their retirement fund represents their biggest saving
Legislation
The main statutes governing the retirement funds industry are the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority Act, the Pension and Provident Funds Act and the Income Tax Act.
Membership
Our membership is open to retirement funds, corporate entities who may or may not be services providers and individuals from the general public
